Who we are

We are a Dutch couple, Gertjan de Zoete and Elly Schipper. Following busy professional lives, we were looking for our next challenge. After much thought, and having visited this area over twenty times in different seasons, we decided to emigrate from the Netherlands to Extremadura. We started to work on our project in May 2009 and finally, after a very long bureaucratic process, we opened October 2012. So now we are offering the most beautiful place to stay in Jaraicejo, close to Monfrague National Park.

Our project is called "Finca Las Abubillas" and consists of five detached chalets in a beautifully tranquil holmoak dehesa. For birdwatchers, photographers, and nature lovers this is a perfect place to stay in Extremadura, so close to the heart of this unspoilt region.
